Parent Information

We are certain your child will have a fun, safe and memorable experience at Dallowgill.

Dallowgill is a warm comfortable building with modern facilities. Children who have stayed at the centre regularly comment on how impressive and comfortable their stay has been. There is no mobile signal at the centre but we believe this is a benefit to centre users as they spend their leisure time playing games and talking to each other instead of increasing their screen time. The centre does have Wi-Fi for staff use and to support learning but this is not generally made available to children. Staff will however be able to contact you if needed.

Dallowgill uses the same entry systems that are in place in Delta schools meaning that children can not leave or enter the building without a visit leader enabling them. The grounds are securely fenced in and a CCTV system is in operation. There is also a modern fire alarm system.

The sleeping arrangements allow group leaders to configure rooms in lots of different ways ensuring that, if needed, people can change rooms with few issues.

All users of the centre are given bed linen and towels as part of their stay and all linen is professionally cleaned by a hotel linen service. There is no need to bring a towel from home but you are welcome to do so if you wish.

The centre is very remote and set in rural countryside. It is highly likely (even in summer months) that your child will get wet and muddy at some point. We strongly advise that wellingtons or walking boots are used for these occasions. It is also a good idea to pack an empty bin liner so that wet and dirty clothes can be separated when packing for home. Please see the kit list below for further information.

If you have any questions about the centre please contact the visit leader at your child’s school.
